Ondo South Senator Jimoh Ibrahim has announced plans by President Bola Tinubu’s administration to leverage artificial intelligence (AI) technology to address Nigeria’s security challenges in 2025. Speaking on Channels TV, Ibrahim highlighted the development of AI-powered apps to track and combat bandits, kidnappers, and terrorists.

The President’s ₦49.7tn budget proposal for 2025 allocates ₦4.91tn to defence and security, alongside significant investments in infrastructure (₦4.06tn), education (₦3.5tn), and health (₦2.4tn). Ibrahim believes this funding will boost peace and economic growth, especially by enhancing oil production.

The senator also praised the Federal Government’s improved security measures, stating that no region is currently under Boko Haram’s control and crediting the efforts of the army and police for this progress.
