President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the APC on his win in the Ondo governorship election, where Aiyedatiwa got 366,781 votes, defeating PDP’s Ajayi Agboola, who scored 117,845 votes.
Calling the election a success, Tinubu commended INEC for its efficiency, noting that over 98% of results were uploaded on the same day. He also praised the peaceful conduct of campaigns and voting, attributing the success to the civility shown by candidates and voters alike.
In a statement by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu encouraged aggrieved candidates to seek justice through the courts, saying, “The President urges candidates dissatisfied with the outcome to explore the judicial system for redress.”
The President also lauded security agencies for ensuring a safe election and congratulated the people of Ondo for their participation in a credible democratic process.
