President Bola Tinubu has approved the establishment of a federal university in Southern Kaduna, according to Vice President Kashim Shettima. This announcement was made during Shettima’s condolence visit to the family of the late Yohanna Kukah, the Agwom Akulu of Ikulu Chiefdom and a relative of Bishop Matthew Kukah of the Sokoto Catholic Diocese.
The Vice President also revealed plans for a Federal Medical Centre in Kafanchan, highlighting the administration’s commitment to the region’s development. He cited the appointment of General Christopher Musa as Chief of Defence Staff as a sign of the government’s dedication to addressing security concerns in Southern Kaduna.
Shettima praised Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani for promoting inclusive governance and pledged federal collaboration to improve infrastructure, especially roads in the area. Bishop Kukah expressed gratitude for the visit, emphasizing the need for improved road access to the community.
