Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, has criticized President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for traveling abroad at a time when Nigeria faces numerous challenges. Tinubu is currently on a working visit to the UK and France, while Shettima is in Sweden for bilateral engagements. Obi expressed concern over their absence, stating that the country needs its leaders to address the hardship caused by recent policies. He questioned the decision-making behind these trips, calling for greater fiscal responsibility and leadership during this difficult period.
Obi emphasized, “This is the time to show true and committed leadership to the people by making decisions that prioritize their well-being and manage our scarce resources effectively.”
