JUST IN: Tinubu Restructures: ‘Niger Delta and Sports Ministries Scrapped, New Regional Development Ministry Established’

President Tinubu and the Federal Executive Council have dissolved the Niger Delta Ministry and the Ministry of Sports Development, replacing them with more streamlined entities. A new Ministry of Regional Development will now supervise all regional development commissions, including the Niger Delta Development Commission and others across the country. The National Sports Commission will take over the responsibilities of the former Ministry of Sports, while the Ministry of Tourism has merged with the Ministry of Culture and Creative Economy. These changes were finalized during today’s Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja.
