Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, criticized President Bola Tinubu for spending over 30% of his 580 days in office on foreign trips, with over 30 visits to 16 countries recorded. Speaking in Abuja, Obi urged Tinubu to shift focus to Nigeria’s challenges, suggesting he spend 72 days in 2025 visiting all 36 states.
Obi called for local medical checkups, road trips to inspect highway conditions, and visits to IDP camps, universities, and military formations to connect with citizens and assess infrastructure. He also demanded stronger anti-corruption measures, transparency in governance, and quarterly progress updates directly from Tinubu to Nigerians. “Nigeria needs selfless and exemplary leadership,” Obi declared.
