Four Labour Party lawmakers—Esosa Iyawe (Edo), Tochukwu Okere (Imo), Donatus Matthew (Kaduna), and Bassey Akiba (Cross River)—and one Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmaker, Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu (Delta), have joined the All Progressives Congress (APC). The Labour Party defectors attributed their decision to internal party divisions.
