EDO 2024: APC Delays Inspection of Election Materials, Citing Register Concerns: ‘We Want to Ensure Accuracy’*

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State confirmed that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has postponed the inspection of election materials to Thursday, giving the party more time

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State confirmed that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has postponed the inspection of election materials to Thursday, giving the party more time to prepare. APC Chairman Jarret Tenebe explained that there was confusion in the inspection process, as the party was unaware that the voter register inspection was to begin.

Tenebe expressed concerns about the integrity of the register, mentioning suspicions around materials allegedly coming from the government house. He stated, “We want to look at the register critically to ensure we are not inspecting a fake one.” The legal team of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was also present but did not give any interviews.

INEC had earlier dismissed claims by PDP that access to the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) was denied, with Resident Electoral Commissioner Anubgum Onuoha calling the allegation “baseless” and inviting all parties to inspect the BVAS.
