A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted ₦10 million bail each to 10 #EndBadGovernance protesters accused of attempting to overthrow President Bola Tinubu between August 1 and 4, 2023. Justice Emeka Nwite ruled that the protesters must provide sureties who are property owners in Abuja, submit property documents to the court, and swear affidavits of means.
The protesters are also required to deposit their international passports and three passport photographs. While dismissing objections from the Inspector General of Police, Justice Nwite banned the protesters from participating in public rallies during their trial. The court scheduled the trial to begin on September 27, and the protesters will remain in custody until their bail conditions are met.
