Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar criticized President Bola Tinubu for being indifferent to the economic difficulties caused by his policies, particularly the removal of petrol subsidies. In a post on X, Atiku labeled Tinubu as “T-Pain,” accusing him of worsening the well-being of Nigerians through poorly managed fuel subsidy reforms. He warned that inflation will continue to rise under Tinubu’s leadership. Atiku’s comments followed a sudden fuel price hike, with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) increasing petrol prices to as high as ₦1,050 per litre in some areas. This surge has caused panic buying and long queues at fuel stations across the country.
