In a national call for unity and resilience, First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu are leading a week-long interfaith prayer session, titled “Seeking the Intervention of God in Nigeria’s Affairs,” to address Nigeria’s pressing social, economic, and security issues. Organized by Chief Segun Balogun Afolorunikan, Director General of the National Prayer Forum (NPF), the event will see Muslim and Christian leaders come together for prayers at the National Mosque and National Ecumenical Centre in Abuja.
Muslims will perform 2,191 recitations of the Qur’an, while Christian prayer warriors will unite across denominations to focus on peace and stability. In preparation, NPF leaders have collaborated with key religious and traditional leaders, including the Christian Association of Nigeria and the Sultan of Sokoto. Afolorunikan stated, “Unity is crucial for finding lasting solutions,” expressing hope that this initiative will inspire collective resilience and guide leaders toward sustainable solutions for national stability.
