In a Federal High Court session in Abuja, five minors, arrested during August’s #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protests, collapsed in the courtroom while on trial for alleged treasonable felony and attempting to overthrow President Bola Tinubu’s government. One of the malnourished minors fainted first, followed by four others, leading to a moment of panic as lawyers and officials rushed to assist them before they were taken to a hospital. The prosecution later requested to withdraw the charges on health grounds, citing the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) 2015. Defense counsel Abubakar Marshal called for the minors to be released to their parents.
